Life can be challenging and, even with our best efforts, we can have difficulty sorting through our own challenges. Let us help. Sometimes, having an impartial listener can help. Whether you're anxious, depressed or trying to sort through relationship difficulties, our therapists are trained to give you our full attention and help you find the solutions that work for you.

We offer the options of in-person therapy, virtual counseling or telephone sessions to current and new clients. (Our virtual services are offered through HIPPA compliant and encrypted services. This option involves new clients filling out intake forms--links on first page of this site--and either faxing them to 817-275-3720 or emailing them to our office at centerstaff@hotmail.com. Arrangement of payment method needs to be made with our office and we are glad to file insurance claims when appropriate.)

Credit cards are also accepted. All our therapists are licensed in the state of Texas.

Spiritual Counseling

counseling-spiritual

The Family Counseling Center recognizes that many of life issues involve a spiritual nature and our therapists are able to help each client work through the many conflicts involving their spiritual concerns. While our therapists have their own beliefs, we do not preach these to our clients. Our mission isn’t to convert our clients to our way of thinking, although if asked, we have no problem with sharing our perspective.

It’s well documented that individuals who have a belief in a higher power enjoy a greater sense of enjoyment and peace in this life. Confusing things from our past regarding religion and beliefs in a higher power has led us to a lot of guilt and anxiety. Resolving these conflicts leads to a healthier existence and greater freedom. A famous writer wrote “I know in whom I believe.” This knowledge frees individuals to more forward psychologically and spiritually. We often know in whom we were taught to believe as children, but  we aren’t sure who we believe in as mature individuals.

For those who are searching and striving to determine their beliefs, we suggest exploring the perspective of Dr. Tim Jennings, a psychiatrist who shares his thoughts and beliefs on www.comeandreason.com , as well as, in books and presentations.

We believe it is important for all individuals to develop their spiritual lives and in this, we are fully non-denominational. Our therapists respect the many different ideas and religious beliefs of our clients and we don’t consider it to be our place to tell others what to believe. In full disclosure, Dr. Roger Doss is involved in Knowing God Ministries which involves understanding the names of God and how they convey His love for each one of us. knowinggodministries.com
