Life can be challenging and, even with our best efforts, we can have difficulty sorting through our own challenges. Let us help. Sometimes, having an impartial listener can help. Whether you're anxious, depressed or trying to sort through relationship difficulties, our therapists are trained to give you our full attention and help you find the solutions that work for you.

We offer the options of in-person therapy, virtual counseling or telephone sessions to current and new clients. (Our virtual services are offered through HIPPA compliant and encrypted services. This option involves new clients filling out intake forms--links on first page of this site--and either faxing them to 817-275-3720 or emailing them to our office at centerstaff@hotmail.com. Arrangement of payment method needs to be made with our office and we are glad to file insurance claims when appropriate.)

Credit cards are also accepted. All our therapists are licensed in the state of Texas.

DON’T WANT TO BE A MOTHER?

“I am a 59 year-old mother of 2 adult children–a son who is 31 and a daughter, 28. I have 2 adult step-children and 6 grandchildren. I have a good relationship with all my kids, except for one. My son who I desperately want a relationship with. When my son was 6, his father and […]

MAKING IT ALL BETTER

When you were a small child, you may have had a mother or grandmother who offered to kiss your boo-boos to make them all better. Now that you’re grown up, you might wish it were that simple. When you love someone, you want to help them through difficulties even when you could scream about all […]

REACHING HUMBLE

This may seem like an abstract subject to some, but how you view yourself is very important and we’re confused about the subject. High self-esteem is good. Don’t let yourself doubt this, no matter who says you should think you’re a worm. (Actually earthworms are pretty important!) You need to see your good points–the aspects […]

NOTICE YOUR SUCCESSES

You may have bad habits and irritating tendencies, but you’re probably pretty good at most stuff. Unfortunately, most of us don’t notice the things we’re good at. Even if we have friends and family cheering on the sidelines, our tendency is to shrug this off because they love us. Even individuals who would be considered […]

ANTI-DEPRESSANTS & THE PLACEBO EFFECT

A story ran on the CBS television show 60 Minutes last week about a Harvard researcher studying the placebo effect. He concluded that for the majority of individuals with moderate depression, these medications have little to no effect beyond the expectation of getting better. He was clear that he wasn’t saying that the medications have […]

LITTLE LETHAL PLEASURES

“My spouse and I have known each other for 10 years, but have only been in a relationship for 4 years. We have a 3 year-old child. At the beginning of our relationship, everything was great, fun and easy, but after we had our child, it seems like things and we have changed. We argue […]

WHAT LIFE DO YOU WANT?

Too often we ask teens and college-bound kids the wrong question and truthfully adults are often confused when making major decisions. Rather than asking themselves about college-majors and career choices, individuals first need to consider the kinds of lives they want to lead. This may sound obvious, but think about it, when you pick a […]

LEARN FROM IT

Bad stuff happens and if we’re paying attention, we look for the lesson. This isn’t to say that random bad things don’t happen. They do. Just watch the news. People get what they don’t deserve all the times. In our difficult economy, people lose jobs and homes and self-respect. Most of them don’t deserve any […]

BEING 13 SUCKS * EXCRUTIATING SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS

“I’m not sure what to do anymore. Many nights I end up crying myself to sleep. My dad never seems to notice anything or care. His main focus is work. If he isn’t working, he’s on the computer or watching TV. My mom thinks she’s doing what’s best for us, but I can’t seem to […]
